Charles Howell III cruises to win the LIV Golf League season opening in Mayakoba

Charles Howell III arrived in Mexico a few days before the 2023 LIV golf league season’s opening.

He may be interested in buying property after his week at the Riviera Maya.

After a round of 8-under 63, the 43-year-old won comfortably at LIV Golf Mayakoba at El Camaleon Golf Course. He was four shots ahead at 12 under Peter Uihlein. Branden Grace was third at 10 under.

Bryson de Chambeau’s Crushers GC won the team event at 26 under. This was nine shots better than Dustin Johnson’s 4 Aces GC champion last year. Joaquin Niemann’s Torque GC was unable to perform on Sunday, but managed third place at 13 under. The Crushers took home $3 million while the Aces received $1.5 million and Torque $500,000.
