This week, the PGA Tour returned to Hawaii for competition and it was a great success.
The 2024 Sentry was the first tournament of the Tour’s new season. Ten players were within five shots of winning and the final round leaderboard had a three-way tie.
Chris Kirk, 38, was the winner at Kapalua Plantation Course after a final round of 8-under-65. This is his sixth career win and the first since the Honda Classic in 2023.
Sahith Theegala (63), who finished T-5 at 25 under, recorded the most birdies in a 72-hole event since 1983 with a whopping 34. Jordan Spieth (65), finished third at 27, under. Sungjae Im who finished in the top five at 25 under recorded 34 birdies, which is the most ever for a 72 hole event since 1983.
The Tour continues to tour the islands with the Sony Open, which takes place in Hawaii from Jan. 11-14 at Waialae Country Club, Honolulu.
