The Watch5 Pro Golf Edition is a 45mm wide case made of titanium. It has a lighter weight but still offers great durability. The matte black titanium case has two pushers on its right side for easy navigation of the extensive menu options. The case measures approximately 52mm from lug-to-lug and is 14mm high. This could make it difficult to fit smaller wrists. On colder days, I noticed that the case was a bit taller than I expected. I had to adjust my sleeves in order to be able to swing freely.
The sapphire display measures 1.4 inches in size. It is therefore very scratch-resistant and protected by a titanium bezel. The Super AMOLED display is 450×450 pixels in resolution and 321ppi density, which allows for crisp, clear graphics. The watch has a 1.18Ghz Cortex A55 CPU, 16GB + 1.5GB RAM and a Mali G68 GPU. This ensures that your apps run efficiently and quickly.
The Watch5 Pro Golf Edition’s rubber strap is white and black, which I like. It has a quick release system that allows you to change the strap easily to match or contrast with an outfit. The Golf Edition strap is extremely soft and molds well to your wrist, keeping it in place even during multiple swings.
The Watch5 Pro golf Edition is light and comfortable to wear on the golf course. It weighs in at 46g so it’s not too noticeable. It took me a few holes to get used it. I don’t normally wear a watch on the golf course. The watch and the glove don’t change much if you wear them together. A model that is a bit higher on your wrist could cause the leather and watch to bunch slightly. My Kirkland Signature gloves ran into the watch case, while my Titleist and Callaway models didn’t.
It is easy to read even in direct sunlight. The black background is dulled by the sharp contrast between the text and images of holes. Smart Caddie is included in the Watch5 Pro Golf Edition. Smart Caddie was created by Golfbuddy who has been creating rangefinders for many years. Smart Caddie was not an option for me as I had already signed up for other tracking and GPS apps. Smart Caddie is very extensive and offers a lot more than GPS. It also seamlessly integrates with Galaxy watches.
The Grint was an app that I had used before and I was already signed up. It was easy to get to The Grint to start a round. All you had to do to access the app was to swipe up and tap. The screen is smooth and records every swipe and tap without any issues. The Watch5 Pro recognized my movements and navigated the menu as I wanted. I didn’t feel like I was tapping or swipeing. The GPS worked perfectly and distances were consistent and accurate. The Grint app requires that you keep your phone close to the Bluetooth connection. It’s not a major issue for most people. I only noticed it when I was using my electric cart to drive it down the fairway.
The Samsung Watch5 Pro Golf Edition is a great choice for golfers who only need one device to use on the course and for daily wear.
