Could the event next month in Doral mark the end of LIV Golf on a Donald Trump golf course?

Sep, 2023

Donald Trump’s properties are not included in the preliminary schedule of LIV Golf for 2024.

The schedule, obtained from SI.com, but subject to change, includes once again 14 tournaments but none on courses owned by former President, who has been indicted four times.

Trump has hosted five LIV games in the first two years of the league, including at his properties in Doral and Bedminster, New Jersey. And outside Washington, D.C.

The LIV team championship season finale for 2023 will be held at Trump National Doral on October 20-22 for the second consecutive year. The 2024 preliminary schedule lists “South Florida” as the location of the season’s finale.

Trump is a vocal backer of LIV Golf. The fund, which is funded and backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, has been supporting the golf course for years. He predicted that LIV and PGA Tour would merge last year, despite being bitter rivals. The PGA Tour announced in June that it had signed a framework agreement with the DP World Tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which owns LIV.

Trump wrote in July 2022 on Truth Social that golfers who remain ‘loyal,’ to the disloyal PGA in its various forms, would pay a high price for the inevitable MERGER.

Trump is a regular at LIV events held on his courses. He plays in the pro am and stays for a part of the weekend.

LIV has a schedule for 2024, even though the details of the deal have not yet been released. Others even think that the Justice Department could block the deal.

According to SI.com’s preliminary schedule, six of the events will be held in the United States, and eight others abroad. Currently, US events are being scheduled in West Virginia, Las Vegas and Dallas.

LIV will also be played in Mexico, Jeddah and Hong Kong as well as Adelaide, Valderrama, England, South Korea, Valderrama and Adelaide.

LIV has already completed 12 events in this season. Jeddah and Doral (13-15 October) are the only two remaining.
