Danielle Kang resigns from the 2023 LPGA Drive On. She cites a ‘visit at the ER’ on Instagram.

SUPERSTITION MOUNTAIN (AZ) — Danielle Kang was 13th in Rolex Rankings. She is currently playing in her third LPGA event in 2023.

According to the LPGA, it was because of illness.

Kang posted a message to Instagram later stating that she had visited the ER for severe nausea and respiratory infection.

She continued to state that she was taking medication, and she planned to continue with it. However, she added, “Now I see it was too ambitious,” along with a photo of an IV in the arm beneath her Instagram message.

Kang tied for third at 2023 HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore. She also tied for 38th at Honda LPGA Thailand. Kang birdied the 10th to return to even par at Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club. Then, she had two bogeys at Nos. 12, 14 and 15 before calling it quits.

In Gee Chun, Jennifer Kupcho and Jennifer Kupcho were her playing partners. Kang thanked them for being patient with her on the course and for finishing the day without her.

Kang concluded her message by stating that “hopefully the nausea will subdue and we will be back to golfing again.”
