Talor Gooch, Dustin Johnson and 4 Aces GC won the team title at LIV Golf’s inaugural year in Miami last October.
Gooch informed Johnson, ahead of the 2023 season that he would like to switch teams. He took his talents to Bubba Watson’s RangeGoats GC. Johnson did not want a player on his team that didn’t enjoy being there. He let Gooch go.
Johnson said in February, just before the first LIV event of the year in Mexico: “Me and Talor are fine, and we’re good friends. But I told him to enjoy himself on the stage in Miami, because it was his last chance.
Both players shared the same stage on Sunday, four days later, at LIV Golf Adelaide.
Gooch, who had played two rounds of 10-under-62 in a row at Australia’s Grange Golf Club, entered the final round with a massive lead of 10 shots. The 31-year old struggled with a 1-over score of 74 on Sunday, but still managed to win his first individual title by three shots.

Johnson’s Four Aces, on the other hand, stormed back to steal the team victory from RangeGoats by winning the final round with 18-under. The 4 Aces won their first match of the season, after winning five matches last season.
The new circuit, led by Greg Norman, is backed by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. It will now head to Sentosa Golf Club, Singapore for LIV Golf, April 28-30. After that, it will return to the U.S. to compete in LIV Golf D.C. on May 26-28, at Trump National Golf Club, Sterling, Virginia, as well as LIV Golf Dulsa in Oklahoma from May 12-14.
