Ecco Golf has been a partner with Erik van Rooyen for many years. Together, they designed the Biom H4 to showcase van Rooyen’s passion for music and fashion.
The duo released the first version of EVR signature shoe last summer. The new design is just as striking, with nods to the South African’s love of guitars, his iconic joggers and his famous moustache.
Van Rooyen said, “I am very excited to join forces once again with Ecco to create another signature style.” The previous version we created together was awesome, and I got lots of compliments on tour. “I didn’t believe it was possible to surpass those models, but I think with this new one we’ve achieved exactly that.”
The Biom H4 has a leather upper that is updated, especially around the toe, to give it a sleeker look. Meanwhile, the tongue was completely redesigned for a more ergonomic fit.
The Biom 2.0 last is still used in this shoe, along with the Biom Natural Movement Technology. This helps the foot to move more naturally and close to the floor. It also forms a second layer around the foot.
The Ecco MTN Grip Outsole is made up of three sections that provide traction, stability, and rotational support. Ecco’s Fluidform Direct Comfort technology provides a high degree of cushioning and support for rebound.
The shoe is equipped with X-Tensa Technology, which connects a TPU element at the side of the Biom to the lace system for enhanced lateral stability.
The Biom H4 uses Ecco’s Gore-Tex Technology to keep feet dry in any weather.
It’s an honor to be able to create my own shoe, and Biom H4 is a great model for it. It’s an honor to be able create my own shoe, and Biom is the perfect model to do so with.”
