The eight countries that will be competing in the Hanwha Lifeplus International Crown were finalized in November. Now it’s a race to April to decide which players will qualify for this unique team competition.
The Rolex Rankings will determine the top four players from each nation. They will compete at San Francisco’s TPC Harting Park May 4-7.
The qualifying countries are the United States (35), South Korea (35) and Japan (85), Japan (120), Sweden (120), Thailand (183), England (197), Australia (298), and China (446).
South Africa (475 points), just missed qualifying for its first Crown. To be eligible, countries must have at least four ranked players.
This event attracts players from all over the globe who are not eligible to play in the Solheim Cup. However, Brooke Henderson of Canada and Lydia Ko of New Zealand, both No. 7 will not be among the 32.
The Crown was last held in South Korea in 2018, where In Gee Chun, Sung Hyun Park and In-Kyung Kim won on home soil before a boisterous crowd.
