CASARES (Spain) — Emily Kristine Pedersen of Team Europe struggled on the first Solheim Cup day in 2023.
The Dane struggled in the afternoon’s fourball match after losing to the Americans Ally Ewing (who he played with) and Cheyenne Knight (5-and-4).
The 12th hole is the last.
Pedersen was the only player who had mastered the slope off the green of the par 3, which allowed him to be close to the hole. She placed her ball perfectly and watched as it rolled right into the cup. Pedersen’s ace was only the second ever in Solheim Cup History. She joins her teammate, assistant caption Anna Nordqvist who achieved the feat first in 2013.
