Trump International members might be interested in his clubs the next time they see him playing golf.
They might then want to call the federal governments.
A new House Democrats report states that federal officials can’t find two gifts Trump received from foreign countries when he was president. These include golf clubs valued at more than $7,000., which Shinzo Abe, the Japanese Prime Minister, gave to Trump.
Th e Washington Post reported the first story.
Trump and his family failed to properly report more than 100 gifts in excess of $300,000. This is in violation of federal law. However, Trump’s golf clubs and a large-scale painting of Trump by El Salvador’s president remain outstanding.
During a November 2016 visit to Manhattan, Abe presented Trump with gold-plated clubs for golf. Trump played in Japan with Abe in 2019.
Abe was speaking at a Japanese political event when he was assassinated on July 8, 2022.
Trump told his advisers repeatedly that the gifts he received during his presidency were his and not the federal government.
The White House Gifts Unit keeps track of all foreign and domestic gifts received by the president or his family. The Foreign Gifts and Decorations Act allows people to keep a gift or pay the full amount. Officials cannot keep gifts received from foreign entities valued at more than $415 under the 1966 law.
