Five things you should know about the 2023 Augusta National Women’s Amateur beyond the World No. 1 Rose Zhang’s brilliance

EVANS, Ga. — The Rose Zhang Show started early at Champions Retreat. It quickly became the World No. 1 set another record day at Augusta National Women’s Amateur. With a second round 65 , the Stanford sophomore broke her course record and leads Andrea Lignell by five strokes going into Saturday’s final round at Augusta National.

Zhang’s total of 13-under-131 also set a new record.

Although it seems like Zhang is gone, there were many other highlights to a day that saw red numbers strewn across the board. It was one of the most stressful days of golf. The cut was made by 31 players. Each player will play a practice round at Augusta National on Friday, but they all made it through.
