Friday at Bay Hill: Jordan Spieth wakes up and Jon Rahm takes a break among the notes from Day 2 of Arnold Palmer Invitational

Mar, 2023

Weathermen were able to predict the weather on Friday, as wind did blow into Bay Hill Club & Lodge during Day 2 of Arnold Palmer Invitational. However, it was not as severe as initially predicted.

However, they were sufficient to force Jon Rahm off course, who was leading at 18 holes. The Spaniard, however, shot a second round 4-over 76.

The man himself will tell you how hard it was: “It’s F ****ing difficult.”

He is 3 under and 6 back going into the weekend.

Kurt Kitayama was not affected by the wind. His impressive 4-under 68 on Thursday was followed by a 67 on Thursday. His lone bogey came at the par-5 16th hole, which is the most difficult hole on the course.

He finished his day with a dart of 156 yards from the par-4 18th, and a final circle.

After his round, he stated that “it’s always fun challenging keeping yourself in the present.” It’s easy to let things slip when you have conditions like these. It’s about staying focused throughout the process. Mentally, there’s no way to let up.

Kitayama is now on his third lead at 36 holes this season. He has yet to convert.

We have your back if you missed Friday’s action. This is everything you need from round two of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Notice: Friday play was suspended. Two players were still on the course. Current cut line is 2 over.
