Spaun, who just days ago finished at the Plantation Course in a T-5 finish, is now poised to compete for his second career PGA Tour victory (his first being the 2022 Valero Texas Open). He is tied for second with Taylor Montgomery, just one shot behind Chris Kirk, the 36-hole leader.
Montgomery’s great play has continued since the end of 2022 when he placed in the top 20 in six out of seven starts during his wrap-around campaign. He’s actually the Tour player with the lowest score (83).
