The RSM Classic, which is this week’s final full-field PGA Tour event, is technically the 2021-22 PGA Tour season. However, Rory McIlroy, who won the Tour Championship in August, officially ended the 2021-22 PGA Tour seasons. For those who feel winter’s early bites, summer feels like it has been a while ago. However, we can still look back at the great seasons that Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas enjoyed.
Scheffler, Thomas, and Zalatoris are not only rich but also ranked among the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking. They finished the 2021-22 PGA Tour season ranked 10th in Strokes Gained Approach the Green.
Strokes gained: Approach the Green is the most accurate statistic for measuring a golfer’s quality of their iron game. It measures how far a player can hit shots that are more than 30 yards from the green, which are not hit from the tee. Scheffler and Thomas were marksmen last season, creating lots of birdie opportunities and avoiding hazards on the greenside.
