This year’s end event will see players from all walks of the country, from 55 years old to over 75. Four men will be named champions by week’s end and there will be one last stake in success before 2022 is over.

Andy Hydorn leads senior division after one round. Hydorn managed to score a round of 1-under-71 despite the difficult weather and scoring conditions.

Hydorn played a clean round, with just one bogey on the back nine and two birdies on his front nine. Kansan Greg Goode is one shot behind Hydorn, a Houston native. At 1 over, Hydorn is just two shots behind three other players.

Steve Humphrey, Super Senior, holds the title of low round of day. His 2 under performance in the opening round paces the entire super senior age group. Humphrey was able to score without difficulty. Humphrey was able to score six birdies during the day. However, a few bogeys prevented him from leaping too far ahead.

Tim Vigotsky and Stephen Fox share second place, after they have matched each other with rounds 4-over-76.

Joseph Gilmore, Jupiter, Florida, leads the field in the Legend division. To maintain his lead at even par, he made four birdies. Don Donatoni and Sam Robinson are within three shots of Gilmore, while Peter Van Ingen is just three shots behind Gilmore.

Super Legends Joel Hirsch, Frank Polizzi and Frank Polizzi share first place in the 75+ division. The pair are both carding rounds of 2 over and they want to be able to stand out from the pack that is trying to find them.

Round 2 of the Golfweek Senior Tournament of Champions moves to the Tom Fazio design, PGA National. Check out the 2023 Golfweek Amateur Golf Schedule to see if you’re interested in playing on championship-level courses all over the world.
