Are you ready to take a break from all the casino action and the hectic pace of Las Vegas Strip. Golfweek’s best has the most popular golf courses in Sin City.
If you are willing to drive a little, there are several public-access courses in the area that rank high on Golfweek’s Best ranking of top layouts in Nevada. The courses below are all within an hour of Harry Reid International Airport which is adjacent to the Strip. It’s not so easy to look at our state-bystate rankings that list Nevada courses which may be quite a distance away.
We used Google Maps to calculate the driving times for each route as if it were a normal Saturday morning. Remember that traffic in Las Vegas can be very slow, especially near the Strip. Take these times with a pinch of salt.
This list includes a map that shows where you can find each of these courses. The map below shows the number of each course on the list. Scroll down to see them.
Each course’s position on Golfweek’s list of the Best public-access courses in Nevada is also included. The positions of any courses that appear on our other popular ranking lists are also included.

Background: Our course-rating panel, which consists of hundreds of members, continuously rates courses on the basis of 10 criteria. The points are assigned on a scale of 1-10. Each course is also given a single overall rating. These ratings are then averaged out to create our Golfweek Best Course rankings.
These courses are open to the public in one way or another, whether it’s through standard green fees or a resort, casino or affiliated hotel. There’s no need to be a member if you want to play golf.
