  • Hackinghokie says: “I have a set BECU Ping Eye 2 Wedges from 1990. They’re amazing. I know that people say you should replace your wedges every couple of years to ensure optimal performance and spin, but I have had great results with a variety of vintage wedges. “As long as the wedge was in good condition, I would feel comfortable using it.”
  • Sheepdawgs: “I put a BeCu Hogan Special SW. that was almost brand new in my bag last October. It was mine since the 1990s. What a great wedge! The first time I played, I made a couple of really good short shots. On the last hole, however, I got out of a sand bunker. It was so good I bought a twin for about $25 shipped. “I forgot how unique these feel.”
  • Bhard315 says: “My 52 and backup are both Vokey series wedges. The two wedges are beginning to wear out, but I have four Oil Can Vokeys 200s that are in mint condition. All 52 degrees. I can’t let go of them at all. “Fantastic wedges.”
  • Deejaid: My pitching wedge, gap wedge and sand wedge all match my modern set. But my sand wedge was made in the early 1980s by Spalding. The sole is very narrow, the bounce is huge, and the leading edge is onset rather than offset. This club is my go-to from 75 yards out, with the exception of greenside bunkers. This club is perfect for deep rough and tight lies. It opens up the shot beautifully. In the sand, I use a Ping ISI Nickel lob wedge. It’s like cheating. “Pops the ball straight out and on the green easily.”
