This week, the Visit Knoxville Tour’s Korn Ferry Tour brought the game’s future superstars to Holston Hills Country Club, Knoxville, Tennessee.
Anders Albertson won last year with an 8-under-par 62 in the opening round. Carl Yuan was the sole second finisher at 19 under. MJ Daffue took the solo third place at 18 under. Taylor Montgomery and Sean O’Hair, who have both had some success on the PGA Tour in the past 8 months, tied for the fourth spot at 16 under.
Ben Kohles is the leader of 2022-23 KFT points and is looking to win his third game this season. Kohles was the winner of the Astara Chili Classic and HomeTown Lenders Championships in April. Both events were decided in a playoff.
Grayson Murray is now 14th in the points standings after winning the AdventHealth Championship. Murray has played in six stroke-play events on the PGA Tour so far this season. He failed to make five cuts at the Puerto Rico Open and finished tied for 15th.
Murray said that he may consider playing the rest of the season with the Korn Ferry Tour. He was involved in a scooter crash just eight months ago in Bermuda. Although he didn’t break any bones, he needed 50 stitches on his face and leg.
Murray won his second Korn Ferry Tour title last week. He also won the 2016 Barbasol Championship as a rookie.
Murray has spoken out about his struggles with alcohol and mental health.
Murray, after the victory last week, said: “I believe everyone has their battles.” “Sometimes, people can hide their problems and still function.
Sometimes you are not. You know, our society is becoming more accepting of the fact that it’s okay to be wrong. I’ve adopted that mentality. Not ashamed of my depression and anxiety.
“I’ve helped others in the past through my social media DMs and people messaging me, so I think I can continue to use my platform to help with such things.”

Data Golf says that Alejandro Tosti will be the winner. In his last four Korn Ferry appearances, the Argentinean finished T-7 (tied for seventh), T-10 (tied for tenth), T-22 (solo fourth) and T-22 (10th). Tosti has made the cut three times on the major tour in the past year. His best finish was at the Mexico Open, where he tied 10th. He is still looking for his first victory.
Holston Hills’ golf course is a par 70 track measuring 7,218 yards. HHCC, founded in 1927, was designed by Donald Ross.
The two previous winners of the Visit knoxville open reached 20 under par, so a lot of birdies will be required to win the title.
