AUGUSTA GA — Greg Norman seeks revenge after being ignored by the Masters.

That would make one of the 18 LIV golfers at Augusta National this Week the winner.

Norman, LIV Golf’s CEO told The Daily Telegraph that if one his golfers wins the Green Jacket, the 17 other will be ready for the 18th green.

Norman explained to the British newspaper that they had agreed that if one of the 17 wins, the rest would stay around to congratulate him at the 18th green. Imagine all the players hugging the winner. It’s not something you see in our events, but it is happening more often in the Ryder Cup.

More: CEO Greg Norman was subpoenaed by Nicklaus Companies for documents regarding Jack.

Norman will not be there, however, telling The Telegraph that he wasn’t invited.

Norman, who lives in Palm Beach Gardens, said, “Funnily enough I haven’t been invited.” “As a major winner, I was always invited, but they sent me nothing last year, and nothing this time. It’s so small, but I will still be there.

Norman won the 1986 and 1993 British Open majors. He finished third at the Masters three times, losing to Larry Mize in the playoffs in 1987. In 1996, he lost a six-shot lead.

Norman stated that watching LIV golfers celebrating on the Masters’ 18th green would “make up all my Augusta misery.”

He said, “They are not going there as an individual, but as a group, supporting each other, supporting each other and rooting for one another.” I believe that this gives these outstanding players an even greater chance next Saturday.”

Six former Masters winners have joined the Saudi-backed league to play in the field — Phil Mickelson (2004), 2006, 2010, 2010), Jupiter’s Charl Schwartzel (2011) and Bubba Watson (2012), 2014, Sergio Garcia (2017). Patrick Reed (2018). Jupiter’s Dustin Johnson 2020.

According to DraftKings at +2200, Cameron Smith, the current British Open champion, has the best chances of winning, followed by Johnson.

Jupiter’s Brooks Koepka is up next at +3500, following a win at LIV Orlando.

Smith stated Monday that he had not heard of any celebrations and that if there were, “I definitely got left off on that one.”

He also stated that he would love to see LIV golfers in contention.

He said, “For sure, I’d love for one of us guys to get up to the top on the leaderboard and really give the game a shot.”

“I believe there is a lot of talk about these guys not playing real golf, these men don’t even play real courses of golf.”

Smith said then something that is contrary to LIV talking points.

“For sure, I will be the first to admit that the fields aren’t as strong. He said that he was the first to admit it. However, he added that there are still a lot of players who can play serious golf and that they compete with each other week-in-and-out. We’re all trying to do the same things as we did six months back.

At +700, the co-favorites are Scottie Scheffler, the Masters champion, and Jupiter’s Rory McIlroy. McIlroy needs to win the Masters to complete his career grand slam.

Norman stated, “How can our players be less motivated?” “There have been some insults that LIV isn’t real golf, and that makes me really mad. Rory McIlroy suggested that we were opening a circus, and LIV was an exhibition. But, on Tiger Woods’ and Rory McIlroy’s advice, the PGA Tour does the same thing with their limited field events, but with more money. Is consistency possible?

“I believe in the players, putting on a great show at Masters and silence the critics. It makes everyone realize that we are a force to be reckoned with in the game.”
