Chase Johnson has captured the hearts of Harry Potter fans and golfers alike. This week, the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
The 27-year old professional golfer won the third annual John Shippen invitational on Sunday at Detroit Golf Club. He earned a place in the Rocket Mortgage and pocketed the $20K prize.
Johnson told a Tuesday press conference that he had worked very hard over the past year-and-a-half to improve some things after losing his Korn Ferry Card. “It’s paying off every time,” he said. “I’ve received a lot support over the past year from my parents, fiancee, and many close friends that I am in constant contact. They know who they’re. It’s been quite a journey since I lost the card. We’re now on the right track and I’m happy to have another chance .”

Johnson was caught by GolfWRX.com, the PGA Tour and GolfWRX.com on Wednesday before Rocket Mortgage to see what equipment he had in his bag.
We discovered that the Cobra employee uses Cobra’s rev33 RF proto copper colored blade irons, which were specifically designed for Rickie Foller. Fowler is no longer using these irons, so Johnson is the only PGA Tour member currently using them.

Johnson explains this in the video below. He also switched to a Cobra King Prototype 7, which has rails on the sole of the club for better turf interaction. Gary Woodland, a fellow Cobra employee, also started using the prototype fairway head at the PGA Championship 2023.
GolfWRX wasn’t only able to see Johnson’s clubs. Johnson also displayed his lucky ball marker, which he got from St. Andrews. He also had a custom-made “Ravenclaw”, a divot wrench inspired by Harry Potter.
