Here is a LIV Golf leaderboard, with Brooks Koepka at the top, followed by Sergio Garcia, Cam Smith and Bryce DeChambeau.

Cameron Tringale has been improving his game, as he improved from 22nd place in the LIV Golf Season opener in Mayakoba to 16th in Tucson, 13th in Orlando and 5th last week in Australia. However, he confessed that after the first round in Singapore, he was concerned about the course’s suitability for him.

Tringale is a fan of fading the ball, and Sentosa Golf Club frequently demands a draw. The former Georgia Tech golfer assumed that he would be in for an exhausting week.

Tringale, his HyFlyers GC team, led by Phil Mickelson played nine holes of the course ahead of the tournament. Since Lefty had made a half dozen consecutive appearances on the course at the Barclays Singapore Open between 2007 and 2012, it was expected that there would be plenty of insight provided in the session.

Tringale said Mickelson said “maybe a few sentences about the course”.

“I’m not sure he listens to himself anyway.”

Advice is not always the best thing to do. Tringale shot a 65 on Friday to help the HyFlyers take a one stroke team lead at the three-day tournament. Tringale admitted that he did not get much insight from his captain but he enjoys the relaxed vibe of the six-time major winner.

“Phil is a great guy to hang out with. Tringale stated that he brings out a playful, fun side in us all. “He always challenges us to do our best and improve at things. He is your biggest fan when you are good at something. He is very positive and encouraging, and I’m starting to believe that he may be right about a few things.”

Mickelson also had a great start to the day, finishing with a 5-under-66. The leaderboard featured the names that you have long been expecting to see on a LIV board: Talor Gooch, the hot hand, led with a 64. Sergio Garcia was close behind, as were Brooks Koepka and Cam Smith. Bryson deChambeau, Louis Oosthuizen, Bryson, DeChambeau, Cam Smith.

Smith, who did not post a bogey on Sunday, was asked if anything had clicked recently, since he appears to be snapping into the championship form which led him to win at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in 2022, the Players Championship, and the Open Championship.

“I don’t believe so.” Smith replied, “I think I’ll just play more golf.”

“We played a lot golf recently. I think that’s good for the golf but also bad for the body and mind at times.”

“Yeah I think that just playing a bit more competitively golf, hitting some good golf shots and yeah, being out here again and trying to win.”

Gooch, the Australian golfer who won his first title by three shots after two consecutive rounds of 10-under-62 at Grange Golf Club last week, made no mistakes in the opening round in Singapore. He had seven birdies in the first round and none bogies.

Gooch isn’t taking this situation lightly, even though he is clearly in great shape.

Gooch explained, “I had a friend who has been a mentor for me ever since I was 10 years old. He always said that the penthouse is always around the corner, and you should never get too high or low when the situation is good or bad. You have to earn it. It’s not a given that you will get 62s or 64s.

We hope to keep the momentum going and play some golf.
