NASSAU (BAHAMAS) – The Hero World Challenge defending champion Viktor Hovland continued his winning streak, shooting 3-under-69 at Albany Golf Club on Thursday to share the lead in the first round with a trio.
Hovland continued to make magic on the par-4 14 . He made his fourth eagle in five attempts and pointed out that the only time he failed to make an eagle was when he had a bogey.
Hovland said that although it wasn’t the largest green, it can be kept on the green. If it was really hard, it would have to be landed on the slope.
Norway’s Hovland is a native of Norway. He has won the Puerto Rico Open and the Dubai Desert Classic twice, as well as the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba twice. Hovland was asked Wednesday what he thought about Mayakoba’s El Camaleon Course hosting a LIV Golf event in February.
He said, “If not then then I’ll look for other places where I can win on.”
There is no better place than the Bahamas.
