After the scramble on Friday at the first Grant Thornton Invitational in Naples, Florida at Tiburon golf club, Nelly Korda/Tony Finau are one shot ahead of Leona Maguire/Lucas Glover, Megan Khang/Denny McCarthy, at 16 under.
Sahith Theegala, Rose Zhang and one of the most popular pairings among fans, are only two shots behind at 14 under.
The Saturday round will be alternate shot foursomes. On Sunday, there will be a new format, “modified fourball”, where both players will hit their tee shots, and then swap balls for their second shot. The players then have to play the second shot until they finish the hole. The team will be determined by the score of the lower two balls.
