The final event of the PGA Tour’s season began with rain.
The 2023 RSM Classic has not yet completed its first round in St. Simons Island. However, there is a tie between Eric Cole, the Rookie of the year candidate, and Cameron Young who both shot 6-under-66s on the Plantation Course, at Sea Island Golf Club.
It’s their last chance to qualify for the first two signature tournaments of 2024 if they finish in positions 51-60 on the FedEx Cup ranking. For others, this is their final chance to make the top 125 and get a PGA Tour card.
The Seaside Course is ranked No. The Seaside Course is ranked No. 1 on Golfweek’s Best list for public-access courses in Georgia. It also ranks in the top 75 of a href=”https://golfweek.usatoday.com/lists/golfweeks-best-2023-top 200 modern golf courses in the U.S. The U.S. ranks 75th on Golfweek’s Best list for modern courses.
The first round began late and was delayed by 2 1/2 hours due to weather. It was then suspended because of darkness.
The RSM Classic first round has been suspended at 5:17 pm due to darkness. The first round of the RSM Classic will resume on Friday at 8 am.
