Villegas is searching for his first PGA Tour victory since the 2014 Wyndham.
El Cardonal is ranked 26th in the Golfweek 2023 Top 50 courses list: Mexico, Caribbean islands, Central America, and Atlantic Islands. El Cardonal is one of 11 golf courses on the list. Tiger Woods designed the course, which opened in 2014.
