Sahith Theegala is leading the 18-holes at The Sentry, Hawaii. Theegala shot a 9-under 64, one shot better than Collin Morikawa’s 65, Camilo Villagas’, Sungjae im, Jason Day, and Viktor Hovland. Theegala is currently ranked number 32 in the Official World Golf Ranking. He won the Fortinet Championship this past fall.
Morikawa is having a great season. He was the runner-up in Maui to Jon Rahm last year, but this shouldn’t be a surprise. He was seventh in 2020, 2021 and then fifth in 2022.
Kapalua’s Plantation Course is ranked No. Golfweek’s Best list for public-access courses in Hawaii ranks it No. Golfweek’s Best list for modern courses is ranked 39th in the U.S.
