Jan, 2023

13 winners have been announced by the Aramco Saudi Ladies International. This year’s field will include World No. 1 Lydia Ko, Lexi Thompson and In Gee Chun.

This event is presented by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and takes place at Royal Greens Golf and Country Club from February 16-19. It features a $5 million upgraded purse. In the coming weeks, more LPGA stars will be announced.

60 players from the Ladies European Tour will compete in the 120-player field. 50 of the top 300 Rolex Rankings players will also participate. There are a maximum 10 sponsors invited. The $750,000 prize will go to the winner.

The tournament’s prize pool is now $1 million higher than last year. It matches the purse of the men’s event, PIF Saudi International powered By SoftBank Investment Advisers. This event will be held at Royal Greens from February 2-5, 2012.

Thompson stated that equal pay in golf is something all women in the game want for so many years. “Seeing the huge prize purse increase at Aramco Saudi Ladies International presented to PIF to match the men’s tournament was very heartening.” It’s been about feeling equal for us all and we all want to make the game a better place for the next generation of female golfers.

The 2023 LET schedule includes the Aramco Saudi Ladies Internation, as well as the Aramco Team Series, which consists of five events held around the world. Last year, the winners of these events were LPGA players Bronte law, Nelly Korda, and Thompson.

The controversy surrounding the LET’s Saudi-backed events is due to the many human rights violations Saudi Arabia has been accused, particularly towards women.

There are 18 major titles among the 13 winners of the Saudi Ladies International field.

Three-time major major winner Chun will travel to Saudi Arabia later in the month.

Chun stated in a press release that she was excited to visit Saudi Arabia. “I also look forward to an event that will elevate women’s Golf in all parts the world,” Chun said. It will be a challenging early season event with a strong field of competitors.

Hall added: “It’s an enormous boost for women’s golf, and it also transcends golf because it’s what women need in sport.” Golf Saudi is a great organization that has done so much for women’s golf.

This week, the Ladies European Tour’s 2023 season begins with the Magical Kenya Ladies Open.

These are the 13 top winners in Saudi Arabia, ranked by world rankings.
