After being selected to play in the European Ryder Cup and winning two professional tournaments during 2023, Ludvig is fast becoming a Swedish golf legend.
Aberg played golf for the Texas Tech Men’s Golf Team in the warm, flat climes of Lubbock a year ago.
In his 11th attempt, the native of Eslov in Sweden won the Omega European Masters for his first DP World Tour win. then claimed his first PGA Tour championship in his eleventh start, with a total of 29-under-253 in four rounds at the RSM Classic. This was the lowest score ever recorded in Tour history.
Aberg only missed one cut during the Tour’s autumn schedule. He finished in the top 25 8 times, including as a runner up at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
With royalty, comes spoils.
Aberg took some time off to enjoy his well-earned vacation. He returned to his homeland and played a round on the Valkommen till Eslovs golfklubb course, where his father first introduced him to the sport.
Aberg had expected milder weather, but instead he got snow on his course. He decided to play the course that day, rather than stay home. In his bag he had a broom with which to remove the snow.

Aberg stated in the video that “the biggest challenge” is to get the tee into the ground.
The Swedish Club was founded in 1968, with the construction of the first nine holes. However, the course is situated on land that dates back to 12th century and belonged to Ellinge Manor.
From holes 11 and 12 you can see Ellinge Castle, a place Aberg frequently passed during his rise to royalty.
