Izzy Stricker (the youngest daughter of Steve Stricker) won an individual state championship last month for Waunakee High School, outside Madison.
She’s now making her college decision. According to Wisconsin.Golf Stricker made her commitment to the Wisconsin women’s golf program earlier in the month. This is in keeping with a family tradition that began with the Badgers.
Wisconsin.Golf. “It has been my dream to follow in the footsteps of my sister and mom and go to Wisconsin. I loved watching the basketball and football games as a child. It feels like home to me, and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.
“I called Coach Oehrlein and told him that I would love to become a Badger. I was very grateful that he had committed to me so early and I wanted to do it the same way.”
Nicki Stricker, Steve’s wife was a four year letter-winner for Wisconsin women, where her grandfather Dennis Tiziani served as head coach between 1989 and 2003. Tiziani was also the head coach of the Wisconsin men’s basketball team between 1977 and 2003.
Izzi’s older sibling, Bobbi played tennis in highschool. She then joined the Badgers golf club and saw her scoring average drop to 74.6 from 79. She won the Wisconsin Women’s Amateur Championship together with her mother after she graduated from Wisconsin.
