Stubbs who lives only two miles away from Royal Melbourne beat Wenyi ding, 2022 U.S. Sampson Zheng, the Junior Amateur champion and Stubbs in two extra-holes after starting six shots behind Zheng. Now he is the fourth Australian to win the championship. He joins Antonio Murdaca (2014, Curtis Luck (2017) and Harrison Crowe (2022).
Kazuma Kbori, who finished sixth with 4 over, was T-4 along with Chuan-Tai Lin. Anh Minh nguyen and Marcus Lim were T-7 with 6 over. Jeffrey Guan (7-over) and Billy Dowling (8-over) complete the top 10.
The field this year included 120 male amateurs representing 37 Asian-Pacific countries. The Masters, R&A, and Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation created the championship in 2009 to promote amateur golf across the region.
