KAPALUA (Hawaii) — Jay Monahan, PGA Tour commissioner, hosted Friday’s annual sushi dinner for players and was there to witness Jon Rahm’s incredible comeback from just nine strokes back in Sunday’s 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions.

Monahan met with media members before the last putt was made to give his first public comments about the Tour and the ongoing legal battle with LIV Golf.

“I am focused on what I control. Now it’s product over product. We have our plan. It’s all laid out. Monahan stated that we will continue to improve and become better. They have theirs. We’ll continue to be the most competitive aspirational tour for men’s professional golf. We will continue to improve. Their experience is quite different from ours. They are following their path, and we are going to follow ours. They have made it very clear that there isn’t one — and that they are very aware of this.”

These are just a few of the notable comments made by the commish.
