Jessica Korda announced an indefinite break from the LPGA due a lingering back problem

May, 2023

Jessica Korda has decided to take a break from playing in the LPGA. She is not sure when she will return. Jessica Korda, 30, has been suffering from a back problem for some time and says that the pain has reached a level where it isn’t improving. She had to withdraw from a number of events.

Korda posted on her social media that it was frustrating to be forced to repeat the same thing over and over again. On the advice of my doctors, I’ve decided to stop playing football until my back is fully healed.

Six-time LPGA winner, Korda withdrew from the CognizantFounders Cup after a 72 in the first round. In six starts this season, her best finish is a tie for 18th place at the Dio Implant LPGA Open.

Last year, Korda stopped playing late September because of lingering back problems. She took two months in the spring.

Korda wrote that “at this point we do not have a set date for my return, but I am working with the very best of the best, and am focused to come back as quickly as possible.”

Two majors are scheduled for the LPGA in three weeks, starting June 22nd with the KPMG Women’s PGA Baltusrol and ending on July 2nd at the U.S. Women’s Open Pebble Beach Golf Links.
