Jim Furyk will design the first course at Glynlea country club in Port St. Lucie.

Nov, 2023

Jim Furyk signed on to design the golf course for the newly announced Glynlea country club at Wylder. This new community is planned for Port St. Lucie, on the southeast coast Florida.

GreenPointe Developers, LLC hired Furyk, a 2003 U.S. Open winner and 17-time PGA Tour champion, to design his first signature golf course. Furyk, who has worked as a consultant for several course designs and been interested in design since he a child, will manage the course. Hampton Golf will be managing the course.

Furyk said that he was focused on creating a golf course for all levels of players. He lives in Jacksonville along the Atlantic Coast. The course is expected to open at the end of 2024.

Furyk said, in a press release announcing Glynlea’s news, that people may think it will be difficult because the course is designed by a Tour player. But we are designing a golf track that’s very fun and playable for all skill levels.

I’ve played golf all over the globe and seen many different styles of golf courses. I have played a lot with my parents and in pro ams on the PGA Tour. I understand how amateurs play and navigate a course. This course is a great challenge for beginners, average players, and professionals alike.”

Wylder, a master-planned development of over 4,000 homes, was first launched in 1975. Glynlea, a gated community within that community, will cover 560 acres, and offer a range of home and lot sizes starting at $800,000.
