Jim Nantz, CBS’s Jim Nantz, appeared to poke fun at Brooks Koepka for playing LIV Golf and the fact that this Saudi-backed league is broadcast on the CW. It was during the Masters, and golf fans loved that.
Fast forward to the opening round of 2023 PGA Championship, which will be held at Oak Hill. Dustin Johnson, a LIV-qualified golfer, stepped up to the tee. Nantz said: “I’m not sure if you saw it but he won last week in Tulsa.”
Why would this be a shot against LIV? It’s likely because the CW reran or showed infomercials instead of Sunday’s LIV golf playoff.
