John Daly, who has already had his right knee repaired, announced at the PNC Championship that his left knee will be replaced on Wednesday.

Daly spoke to PGATour.com about the difficulties of experiencing knee pain while playing.
He said, “It’s difficult when you don’t follow-through.” “I’m trying to keep one leg straight. I’ll get through it if I have the adrenaline from playing with my son.”
“So, I’ll go out for a while. We have Christmas coming up so we will get to spend some quality time together.
Daly also compared his injury to the current situation of Tiger Woods.
Daly stated, “It’s not fun when you can’t walk and can’t turn and be in a position to practice enough and complete. It’s no fun.” “I pray for Tiger. We need Tiger on the Tour, so I pray that his leg is strong and can be fixed. My number of surgeries is probably higher than Tiger’s. Over the past five years, they just keep increasing in number. But I do get the metal in my knee. Hell, I have more metal than the Bionic Man.
Due to Tiger’s leg injury, and his inability to walk 72 holes on a championship course, the subject of carts being exempted has been hotly debated.
Woods has maintained for many years that he will not use a cart during tournament play. He reiterated this fact last month.
“My teammate was Casey Martin. I voted against the ADA because of what he did.” Walking is an integral part at our level. I won’t walk until it’s approved .”
He says, “It’s sanctioned by the Champions Tour and PNC is part that [a PGA Tour Champions sanctioned tournament],” he said. “As far a regular event goes, no, that .”
Daly has taken a cart through exemption in the past. He argued that a cart is not an advantage and can actually be a disadvantage in competitive golf.
“I don’t feel embarrassed to use a cart. Daly stated that it doesn’t help my golf game in any way.
I prefer to walk and play golf, because you can take your time and decide if it’s a good or bad hole. You also have the option of walking rather than just going up and hitting the shot. It is a huge disadvantage. However, if I could walk I would.
Tiger was critical that Daly took a cart to the 2019 PGA Championship.
“As far JD taking a cart? Well, I walked with broken legs. …”
Daly has stated many times that there were no hard feelings following Woods’ criticism.
