Jon Rahm believes PGA Tour players should be grateful that LIV happened.

NASSAU (Bahamas) – Jon Rahm can pinpoint the moment when his voice was heard in the game.

He said, “This is a very clear moment.” “I gained all the credibility that I needed the second I won U.S. Open. Nobody cared before that. “I got COVID, Memorial happened, and then I won the U.S. Open. Now my opinion is important, that’s how it all went.”

Rahm spoke beautifully about money and golf on Wednesday ahead of the 2022 Hero World Challenge at Albany Club. Rahm has won the 2018 Hero World Challenge and finished second in his three career starts.

“I am in a very, very special, very, very, very fortunate position in my life. He said that he is not one to think about money. “I’m fortunate to have played great golf and been able to make more than I need.”

Rahm admitted that he and his fellow PGA Tour brethren had benefited from LIV Golf’s formation and the existential threat to the Tour. Rahm argued that LIV’s aggressive spending in attracting players to the new league has helped the Tour to increase purses and the Player Impact Program money, which was originally $40 million. This amount will be split between the top 20 finishers. (Tiger Woods won the second consecutive year, despite only nine rounds played this year.

Rahm stated, “I believe on this side of the things we should be grateful that LIV occurred.” I don’t know if these changes would have occurred if LIV hadn’t been there. To a certain extent, yes, we should be grateful.

Rahm was fifth in the PIP standings and was awarded $6 Million. This is a reward for the 20 players who have the greatest impact on the Tour’s business.

“I was not surprised to be in fifth place. It is quite normal. It’s not something that I think about often. I won’t change my current operating style to increase or decrease the PIP. That’s not me. He said that he was here to win golf tournaments, and that he would not be doing anything to alter that. “I am aware that I may be behind in social media, but if you play well golf, everything usually takes care of itself.”

Rahm was also quick to point out the fact that money is not what makes his world spin.

“It’s not what I started playing. It’s not the reason I play. Money is not something that I think about when I am doing my schedule, practicing, and getting my stuff done. If money was my goal, I might have gone to LIV. He said that if money is your goal, then that’s the way to go. “I make every decision when it comes golf to be the best player that I can be.”

Rahm made his professional debut at the 2016 Quicken Loans. He was T-3 and earned $400,000, but he said that it really meant that he could go to Chipotle and get extra guac if he wanted and not feel guilty.

He said, “I’m still mad that I bogeyed 17 but didn’t birdie 18, to not win,” “Yes, Jon asked me when the round ended. I replied that you could have made par-par to finish second for $700,000. I almost didn’t care.

When asked if he would miss more than one of 13 elevated events and three other of his choosing in the coming season – a requirement for earning the PIP money – he explained that the money was a nice byproduct from his success and it was unlikely that he would give up those riches to have more time off.

“Listen, I’m not saying that I’m playing for money. He said, “I’m not stupid, okay?” If I can earn it, and I only have to play a few or three events that I have never played before, for $20 million, then I might put in the effort. Although it’s a motivator, I won’t be giving away millions of money just for not wanting to play one or two events.
