The PGA Tour has a new record for the most money won during a single year. It’s still not May.
Jon Rahm placed second in the 2023 Mexico Open held at Vidanta. He was unable to defend his title, but earned $839,300.
Scottie Scheffler’s season total for 2022-23 is now $14,462,840.
Rahm won four tournaments in the current season. Two of those were designated events. He won $2.7 millions at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, and $3.65 million by winning the Genesis Invitational. His Masters win netted him another $3.24million.
Rahm is not participating in this week’s Wells Fargo Championship. He will have at least nine or ten other events to run up his total.
Rahm’s career total is $49,486,883, just a few dollars shy of the $50 million mark.
