SAN DIEGO — Sam Ryder tries to win his first PGA Tour title with his 147 thstart. Jon Rahm, the most popular player on the planet, is looking down at Ryder, attempting to become the fourth player in 25 years to win three consecutive starts. Five other players have competed in Presidents Cup. Ryder is not going to be disappointed if he finds the winner’s circle. Ryder is aware that he will have to defeat the best in order to be the best. He’s taking on the challenge.

“This is what we ultimately want, right?” He said that’s why they play. “It’s something I can’t replicate anywhere else in my work line, so it’s exciting and it’s fun.”

Ryder posted 12 consecutive pars on Torrey Pines South Course’s Friday course. He also recorded an even-par 72, which put him at 12 under and two strokes behind Rahm. Ryder started the day three strokes ahead, but he took three putts at second. This was followed by a host top players who moved closer to the lead. Ryder made his par-5 sixth hole birdie and has been rock solid this week when he missed the green.

He said, “Overall I’m very happy.” “Starting the day off with a lead and ending it with a leads, I’m pretty satisfied.”

Ryder stated that he is a creature of habit. He picked up baseball as a hobby in his youth.

The baseball players are a superstitious group. He explained that it’s like saying, “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” “I can remember exactly where I was when I won the Korn Ferry Tour in Omaha. I was at the same bar seat. I don’t plan to reach that level but I will continue doing what I am doing. It is nice to feel that way. It’s impossible to control the weather, the conditions, or my tee times, so I have to be flexible. It makes you feel a lot more at ease if I can control my environment as much possible.

Although he may not be seated at the same table, he is eating the same meal every day at Urban Plates. Urban Plates is a restaurant that he describes as “semi healthy.”

It was just a small chimichurri steak, some sweet potatoes, broccoli, and a little rice. He said it was very simple and added that he washed it with sparkling water.

Ryder faces a difficult task in the final round, but he stated that he has won at all levels. He said, “This is the next on our list.” “Whether it is tomorrow or down the road, I believe it will happen at some point. I just want to enjoy the journey, the ride, and all of those things as much as possible.
