Jon Rahm wins the third DP World Tour Championship. Rory McIlroy takes home the fourth season title

It was the Rahm & Rory Show at the 2022 DP World Tour Championship.

Jon Rahm shot a 5-under-67 on Sunday to win at 20 under the season finale in Dubai. He was two shots ahead Tyrrell Hatton (and Alex Noren) He becomes the third winner of the tour championship.

Rory McIlroy’s lucky numbers this week at Jumeirah Golf Estates were four. This means that he has been crowned European number one four times. McIlroy finished fourth with a score of 68 and won the points race, Matt Fitzpatrick tied for fifth. McIlroy wins the Harry Vardon trophy, which he also won in 2012, 2014, and 2015.

It’s been seven years since I did it last time. “This is my fourth, but it’s been awhile. I’ve won three FedEx Cups from the last time I won it and it means so much,” he stated.

Only Colin Montgomerie (84) and Seve Ballesteros (66) have more Vardon trophys.

Rahm’s win on the DP World Tour marks his ninth victory and his third title worldwide in 2022.

He said, “Hopefully people will stop telling it’s been a bad years,”.

Rahm started the day with a one shot lead. He ended his 18th hole with three consecutive birdies. Rahm bogeyed No. 4, but added birdies on Nos. 7, 13, and 15. He has now won three times and placed fourth on the Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth Course.
