Jordan Spieth is never dull and Thursday’s 2023 Hero World Challenge round was as Spieth as golf gets.
The 13-time winner of the PGA Tour started his day in Albany, Bahamas with two pars. He then signed for a 4-under 68 after a colorful scorecard which looked like a math quiz. This was especially true on the back nine. Spieth shot two eagles with six birdies and five pars. He also made four bogeys, a double, and had four bogeys. Spieth’s lone par on the back nine came at the 18th hole.
Spieth described his round as “an electric factory.” Some rusty putting and a few toe balls, then some really, really great stuff. When I warmed up today I probably would have signed for 4 under, but I didn’t expect to get there in this manner.

“My drive on the 16 was really bad.” Spieth’s worst shot was a bad drive. “I was just not committed. I changed shots once I got over it,” he said. “My best shot was my hybrid on 3.” “My best was my hybrid on 3.
Spieth was on midseason form at the silly-season November event. A beautiful approach, and A bomb of a putting were responsible for his two eagles. Spieth lost a shot to the right on the par-5 sixth hole. He then hit a provisional.
Jordan Spieth is a golfer who never fails to entertain. His round on Thursday was the best Jordan Spieth ever.
