This weekend Tiger Woods returned to the PGA Tour, much to the delight of many fans, one of which was a former NFL quarterback.
On Sunday, Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills was one of the Woods’ admirers at Riviera Club cheering on the golf icon in the Genesis Invitational. It is being run by Woods’ TGR Foundation. Allen and Woods exchanged encouraging words and shook hands.
Allen grinned, “You put on an excellent tournament.”
Woods stated, “Good luck with all things, alright.”
Allen was radiant after the encounter with one of his sports heroes.
He said, “Little star struck, obviously.” He’s one the most talented athletes I’ve ever seen. His and Kobe (Bryant), are the only two people that make my heart beat faster while he stands over a putt during a tournament. He was so pressured that I felt it. It was quite cool. I’m kinda speechless.”

Woods tied for 45th at the Genesis Invitational, one under par. Jon Rahm won this event at 17 under par. This was his third win of 2011 and his 10th PGA Tour victory.
Allen, who is a huge golf fan, took part in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am instead of the NFL Pro Bowl this year, while he was recovering from an elbow injury.
