Justin Rose, two days before taking on the North Course of Olympia Fields’s Olympia Fields, tried a different sport.
Rose, who was in town for the BMW Championship with 49 other PGA Tour athletes, took a diversion on Tuesday and headed about 35 miles north to Wrigley Field, to watch the Chicago Cubs play the White Sox, the rival team across the city.
Rose was seen wearing a No. Rose, wearing a No. He went below to meet with some Cubs players, before throwing a practice pitch on a round of practice.
The Englishman acknowledged that the sport was something completely new.
He admitted, “I have never thrown a ball before yesterday.”
He controlled his nerves and threw the ball to the Cubs’ mascot who was wearing a BMW caddie shirt.
