Justin Thomas and Team USA are enjoying an extended vacation in Italy this week after they lost the Ryder Cup 2023 to Europe near Rome.
Thomas, a 30-year-old, two-time major winner, went 1-2-1 on the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club. His lone victory came in Sunday singles, when he beat Sepp Straka by 2 to 1. Thomas responded to a 3,000 word excerpt from Alan Shipnuck’s new book “LIV and let die: the inside story of the war between the PGA Tour & LIV Golf”, which was shared Wednesday, while on vacation. The book will be available on October 17.
Thomas wasn’t too happy with the excerpt, which included some Not Safe For Work comments on the fight for supremacy among professional golfers over the past two-and-a-half years.
Thomas said that he spoke “on behalf” of many Tour players when he stated they were “sick” about Shipnuck doing “what he does.”
I would like to speak for a number of Tour players when I say that we are sick of @AlanShipnuck. Bring positive stories and help grow golf. Don’t try to make money by bashing players, earning zero trust and with lots of incorrect information. Ridiculous

Thomas, who has a record of 7-4-2 in the Ryder Cup now, attended Patrick Cantlay’s wedding in Rome, just down the road, on Monday. This was a day after America lost the Cup.
