Justin Timberlake was once a sponsor of a Las Vegas stop on the PGA Tour. He is also a frequent participant in the celebrity pro-am circuit.
According to Thestate.com, the actor and musician has now signed on as an investor in a par-3 course.
Timberlake is involved in 8AM Golf, which is part Nicklaus Companies. 8AM recently purchased a 35 percent stake in 3’s Greenville Golf, Greenville, South Carolina.
The original name of the course was Crosswinds. Davis Sezna bought the 30-year-old course in 2004. Named after the par-3 layout, the name also reflects the theme of fun, food and drink as well as golf. Senza informs thestate.com 60 percent of the business won’t be related to golf, but will focus on the restaurant and entertainment that are associated with the course.
Although originally designed as an 18-hole golf course, the 3’s now boasts 12 holes and a short-game area of 6 1/2 acres.
Timberlake stated in a press release that the 3’s concept was one that he is extremely excited about. With its par-3 layout of 12 holes and relaxed “All are welcome” vibe, 3’s makes golf more accessible, less intimidating and more enjoyable.
The “Shack” has been renovated to provide better food and beverage services. It will also have what Sezna claims is the largest ice machine in golf. There will be seating both indoors and outdoors for dining. The closing time for the venue is set at 11 p.m., which includes all golf activities.
Sezna plans to expand the concept in other markets, such as Nashville, Scottsdale, and Vegas.
