Hank Haney, Tiger Woods’ ex-swing coach, stated on his podcast that he knew of a PGA Tour player who was against LIV. He had initially tried to join the breakaway tour at a cost of $55 million.
Phil Mickelson liked multiple tweets suggesting Billy Horschel might have been the player Haney was referring too.
Another person claims to have the information. On the “Beyond the Clubhouse Podcast” this week, Kevin Na’s caddie Kenny Harms stated that two LIV opponents have requested to join.
“There have been a few players who were very vocal against LIV, and actually asked for money to be able to play on LIV.
Harms declined to identify the players who requested the money, and they were rejected.
After 32 years, the caddie sent a message to LIV critics saying that they should “give it another chance”.
It’s not a threat. There are 14 tournaments on LIV and 48 or 49 on PGA Tour.”
