Kevin Streelman won two PGA Tour titles in his career since 2001, when he turned professional. This season, he has only one top-10 finish. It’s not surprising that he entered 2023 Travelers championship with +30000 odds of winning.
If anyone had predicted the kind of luck that the 44-year old would have on Thursday, the oddsmakers may not have been able to help but make him the favorite.
Streelman hit a drive that went out of bounds to the left at TPC River Highlands, Cromwell in Connecticut. The ball hit railroad tracks and bounced back into play. Streelman’s next shot from the rough landed 100 yards short of the green despite hitting what sounded more than a handful of tree branches.
It was a simple chip and putt to get one of the most amazing birdies ever seen.
How did he draw it?
Kevin Streelman, 2014 champion, has it down to -5.
