The latest edition of The Match will take place at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas on Thursday, where NBA legends Steph Curry and Klay Thomson of the Golden State Warriors will face NFL legends Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Travis Kelce.
Mahomes and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen lost the last time they played together to Tom Brady & Aaron Rodgers. Curry also lost in The Match Series with Peyton Manning against Phil Mickelson, Charles Barkley and others.
Even though they may have scars, their teammates will be making their debut at the Match.
Kelce told the media that he has a handicap of around 10. Thompson is somewhere around the double-digits.
Curry is a serious player.
He has played on the Korn Ferry Tour and finished in the top 10 of two of the three American Century Championships held at Lake Tahoe. Now he has sought out the advice of one of the world’s best golf instructors.

Butch Harmon is a golf coach who has worked with Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson, Rickey Fowler and others.
Curry hopes to incorporate some of Harmon’s practices as he prepares for his match later this week.
Curry explained, “It’s a fine balance between not having information overload in my head and having 800 thoughts that I can swing around in my mind.” “I never received any coaching or teaching until last summer. It’s important to know how to put into practice the information that you learn on the course. This is a completely different experience. Just keeping things as simple and straightforward as possible.
Butch gave me a little swing idea that I will probably mention on the telecast, if I make a good shot. Give him a shout out. “I’m just trying to build some confidence, but not complicate being an athlete.”
Thompson repeated Curry’s advice to not complicate things. However, he admitted that he had done some research on YouTube.
“I have been watching YouTube a lot. Last night, I watched Dustin Johnson’s and Rory McIlroy’s tutorial on scoring. I learned a few things. I was just trying to learn from the professionals.
I haven’t watched basketball in the last couple of weeks. Only golf. “There are also a lot of Tiger highlights.”
Curry/Thompson will face Mahomes/Kelce at 6:30 pm. ET Thursday. The game will be broadcast on TNT and truTV, and streamed via Sling TV.
