Landscapes Unlimited, a golf course developer, has teamed up with a third generation property owner in Traphill to break ground on a private Contentment Golf Club.
Lester George will design the course for Contentment, which is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains foothills. In a media release, the course was said to pay tributes to the famous template holes created by C.B. Macdonald, and Seth Raynor.
The club is about an hour drive from Winston-Salem, and 90 minutes north of Charlotte.
Owner Curt Siding spent time with his grandfather, who died in 2005. He plans to open his club on Sept. 25, 2025. This will mark the 100 th wedding anniversary of his grandparents.

Sidden stated in a media release that “Contentment” is a tribute paid to his grandparents, with whom he spent time as a child. “My family taught me the importance of having a calm, satisfied and uncomplaining mind. We hope that Contentment will be a tranquil, peaceful haven for body, mind and spirit.”
The property is void of any homes, except for cottages or lodging for the members. The property will include a practice facility with a variety of outdoor gathering areas, a lake and trails, as well as a reflection sanctuary.
In a media release, Jack Morgan, senior Vice President of Landscapes Unlimited’s Project Development Group, stated that the property where Contentment is located was one of the most relaxing, revitalizing, and overall special topographies of our company’s past.
