Hyo Joo kim shot an even par 71 on a day when any score above even par was considered a good one. She now leads by four shots at The Ascendant Benefitting Volunteers of America. The event takes place at Old American Golf Club, in The Colony.
Kim had a score of 2 over par through her first 6 holes on Saturday, but began to fight back after a birdie shot at the 8th hole. She added four more birdies and one bogey to her back nine to cement her even-par performance. The 7th ranked golfer in the world hopes to finish among the top 10 for the first time since she finished T-4 at the AIG Women’s Open.

Lexi Thompson is in second place, alongside Sarah Kemp (6 under overall, 2-under 69 Saturday). She is preparing for a very special opportunity. Thompson will be teeing off with the boys at the PGA Tour’s Shriners Children’s Open, which takes place at TPC Summerlin near Las Vegas next week.
Thompson had three bogeys and four birdies on her Saturday card, but she recovered well to finish with an even-par score of 71. Kemp shot a 2-under-par 69.
The final round will be broadcast live on Sunday from 2-5 pm. ET will be broadcast on Peacock. Golf Channel will show a taped version at 7:30 pm. ET.
