Lexi Thompson made history this week by becoming the 7th woman to tee off alongside men at a PGA Tour event. Brittany Lincicome was the last woman to do this at the Barbasol Championship in 2018. She missed the cut after shooting rounds of 78 and 71.
Thompson will compete in the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas at TPC Summerlin. The course is just over 7,200 yards, so Thompson shouldn’t have any trouble with distance (she averages 270 from the tee).
The 25th ranked woman in world golf has improved her game during her last three appearances, with finishes of T-19 at Kroger Queen City, T-8 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, and a solo fifth place at The Ascendant LPGA last week.
You can see our picks here. Ludvig Aberg is at 12/1.
